New student representatives on the UiS board

The student organization at UiS is pleased to announce the results of the election of representatives to the university board for the school year 2023/2024. This election process has been important to ensure that the students' voices are heard and represented in the university board.

Sara Bianca Beitz og  Knut Solvig have been elected as the permanent representatives to the university board. Sara Bianca Beitz got 32,75 percent of the votes, and Knut Solvig got 34,45 percent of the votes. Both candidates have shown commitment and knowledge of university-related issues, and we look forward to their contribution in the coming year.

Reed Priscilla Selheim  og Jonas Molde Hollund have made a significant effort in the election campaign and have been elected as deputy representatives. Siv Priscilla Selheim got 16,13 percent of the votes, while Jonas Molde Hollund got 23,39 percent of the votes. Their involvement will be important to ensure continuity and broad representation on the university board.

Voter turnout was unfortunately very low, with a turnout of 3,58 per cent for male representatives and 3,69 per cent for female representatives. The student organization uses a lot of resources to ensure active participation in student democracy, as it is an important way to influence the university's development and decisions, as well as to anchor the student voice in the breadth of the student body. We are therefore disappointed by the low turnout. At the same time, a great deal of effort has been made to market the election, and all students have received information about the election through various channels.

We congratulate the elected representatives and look forward to a productive year with their valuable contribution to the University Board.
