Elected trustee at institute level

There are many boards and electives attached to UiS and StOr. The students have the right to at least 20% representatives in all boards and electives with decision rights at the university.

Students are represented at most boards and electives at UiS. This means that you have influence in most aspects, teaching environment, quality of education, student administration or teaching- and learning forms, if you choose to get involved.

Institute boards

The Institute board consists of the institute leader, employees and two students. There are several institute boards in each faculty and they discuss things that are relevant for each institute.

Appoint and hiring boards

The Appoint and hiring boards are a part of considering applicants to positions at UiS. There are employment electives on both faculty and institutional levels.

Program board

This is where you as a student really can have an effect on how your studies will look. The Program board gives the subject leader advice on working out a yearly rapport to be sent to the Quality board. There should always be two student representatives in the program board.

Admission committee

Some places of study have admission committees for some of the different directions of studies at the institutions. This in particular goes for the masters degree. The admission committee meets when all applications have been received and is respondsible for sorting candidates.

Safety board

At UiS the following fields of study require the consideration of the students safety:
