Elected trustee institution level

There are many boards and electives attached to UiS and StOr. The students have the right to at least 20% representatives in all boards and electives with decision rights at the university.

 

Students are represented at most boards and electives at UiS. This means that you have influence in most aspects, teaching environment, quality of education, student administration or teaching- and learning forms, if you choose to get involved.

 

University board

The University board is the UiS highest organ. In the board there are two student representatives and two substitute representatives. They are elected by the SP at the last meeting of the spring semester. The University board also consists of the dean, employee representatives and external representatives.

 

The board of education

At the board of education there should be four student representatives chosen by the SP. The board of education should on behalf of the University board contribute to good quality of education and student administration at UiS, and give guidelines for the universities work in education to keep quality in focus. The board should work to fulfill the demands of NOKUT and the goals set by the institution itself.

 

Learning environment board

The learning environment board has three student representatives. The board is bound by law and should work towards seeing through the University decisions, and be a part of the planning of initiatives concerning the learning environment and it should keep on top of questions and issues concerning the safety and welfare of the student body.

 

Appeal board

The appeal board has two student representatives. If complaints aren't solved they can be considered by the Appeal Board. The appeal board deals with complaints from students and make decisiones and recommendations.

 

Museum board

The museum board should through advice and opinions contribute to a good basis of decision making for the museum director, particularly in the following cases: planning and stratergizing for all museum work, yearly reports on the work that has been done and initiatives for the upcoming period, budgets for the museum etc.
