The Welfare Assembly in Stavanger is the overall student political body in welfare matters for the students affiliated to the Student Society in Stavanger. The purpose is to work for the welfare, democratic and economic rights of the students, as well as social and cultural needs. Each year, student organizations and line associations are allocated funds so they can have activities, events, profile themselves and lots more. They must go through an application process and follow their grant award guidelines. In total, around 2 million are distributed each year.
The support line associations / student organizations receive from the Welfare Council aims to strengthen the social and cultural offerings to students in the region.
