“Improve integration between Norwegian and International students”

Our purpose is to make international students to be involved into the Norwegian society

We would like to encourage international students to learn about Norway, Norwegians and Norwegian culture through a strong engagement with different organizations like Norwegian Red Cross and other student organizations on the campus. This will eventually create an unique students atmosphere at the UiS were all the students will find a common platform to share each others cultural values and knowledge.

Make all students feel comfortable together while studying at UiS

Some students will make friendship with some individuals from different nationalities and will bring it to a level so called friends for life, others will just experience and learn from each other. Our aim is to create a comfortable climate for the students through various kinds of events and build a communication bridge, network and channel.

To be able to say that we are the students of UiS as a whole and not being distinguished as Norwegian students or International students

Wwe shall work towards a goal that will eliminate distinction between Norwegian and International students and would rather establish an international environment for all the students so that they feel like they belong to UiS and globalization is taking place for mutual understanding. For instance having most of the documentations that concern students and their welfare should be both in English and Norwegian so that every single individual understands what is going on around the campus, changes are taking place, policies and decisions are made. If there will be any impact on the campus, their voices will be heard and action will be taking place accordingly.

Eliminate age discrimination on student's bus pass

We are still working on elimination of age discrimination on student's bus pass. Age should not be counted while a student is studying on full time based and is not able to make enough to bear the high expense. Therefore a single settled student's price should be established despite age factor.

For the convenience of students, improve teaching style and methods in courses that are taught in English

Very often it is heard that a large number of students at UiS are not happy with their professors who teach courses in English. We do not doubt about their knowledge in the relevant fields but we seriously think they should be ready and well-equipped to teach in English. We will work on having profs that are ready and well-equipped to teach in English and at the same time convince the authority to bring more professors from affiliated universities to teach courses that are in English. We shall not be surprised if students do badly in their exams due to poor learning environment and teaching abilities of the professors!

Improving communication and cooperation between Universities and University Colleges throughout Norway, especially among the Students organizations

We shall try to establish a better communication channel and cooperation between students organizations in different universities and university colleges in Norway, so that in the near future we manage to exchange students between institutes, learn from them, stand together in difficulties and solve problems like housing, students right in students politics stand
