UGÅ is the festival that belongs to the students of Stavanger, and is held every winter around February/March. It is in many ways the connection between UiS and BI, but also for all the student cultural activities in the city centre. It is the studentcommunity of Folken who are responsible for UGÅ, but numerous students contribute to making this on of the most happening weeks of the year! It is Stavangers biggest student festival in lengt, width of entertainment, visitors and enthusesm. The arrangement is brought to life by 300 volunteers, mainly from the Stavanger student environment, who make it possible to hold around 30 different arrangements during a week (or two!)
You can make many efforts to describe UGÅ:
Stavangers largest student festival. The dream of eternal student life. The place where meeting is happiness.
These are characteristics who are all to the point. But if we really want to find out what UGÅ is all about, we would probably have to pick out finer words to describe it. UGÅ is in many ways a party, a celebration of student involvement, belief in the future and spiritual antics, the ambiance that each year means spring comes early to Stavanger. In its simplest form its a feeling, a feeling we think you will like, a feeling we know makes us sleepless with excitement, humbled by the tradition of the stairs and in awe of the commitment we show together. The commitment to prevail, to make it better, to realize that nothing is impossible.
