Members of the Nomination Committee and procedure

The nomination committee consisted of Aleksander Egeli (chair), Birgitte Fjelde Gunnarson and Anne Marie Lund. They have actively sought out potential applicants in the hope of securing many suitable applicants for the individual positions. After the deadline for applications, the nomination committee had received 12 applications distributed on the following positions: 3 applicants for the leader, 1 for the deputy head of education and 2 for the deputy head of the learning environment. 2 apply to sponsor and 4 to the university board. 30 minutes were set aside for each interview and the candidates were sent a case 24 hours in advance of the interview. Past experience, references, personal characteristics and solution to the case form the basis for the setting. The nomination committee has appointed the most suitable candidate for the individual office. All settings are unanimous from the nomination committee.

 

The nomination committee's recommendation is as follows:

 

Manager

The nomination committee has appointed Jørgen Sjøberg as chair of StOr. He has served as deputy head of education for this period and is now very motivated to take over as leader in STOr. He has broad experience from various positions at UiS and has a great commitment to the students at UiS to have the best possible experience. Jørgen is a clear, neat and reflected man with clear visions and wishes on how he wants to lead StOr. He is a unifying and inclusive person for all students and is ready to be the face of the students. The nomination committee believes that Jørgen will do a good job as head of the working committee for the next year.

 


Vice President of Education

The nomination committee has appointed Sara Sunniva Jalali as deputy head of education. Throughout her studies at Sara, Sara has been involved in a number of student organizations. She has clear thoughts on what challenges the University of Stavanger has. The Election Committee is confident that Sara will be a driving force in solving tomorrow's challenges on behalf of the students. As a line association leader, she has already been developing her study further. We are sure that Sara will bring the same commitment to the position of Deputy Head of Education.

 

Vice President of Learning Environment

The nomination committee has appointed Emma Øren as deputy chair of the learning environment. Emma is a life-saver with great courage and contagious mood while taking every challenge on her arm. She has a long running time in the engaged environment in and outside UiS. She has clear thoughts on what challenges UiS has in the learning environment. Emma has a clear vision of how she wants to improve the learning environment at the university through innovative thinking and continue on-going projects. She presented reflected and good answers to pre-submitted cases from the nomination committee.

 

Mentor Chief

The Nomination Committee has nominated Kim Roger Andersen as Sponsor Head 2018. Kim Roger has a clear vision where he will lead the sponsorship. He has solid management experience from several complex organizations and has recently arranged a very successful career day for the hotel and travel industry. Kim Roger has long experience of working in teams and is very reflective of his strengths and weaknesses. He is extroverted with positive radiance, which is an important trait as a sponsor. The nomination committee believes that Kim Roger Andersen is the right person to take the sponsorship festival at UiS to new heights.

 

Student representatives on the University Board

The nomination committee has elected to nominate two permanent representatives and a male product to the university board. The candidates have broad and long experience with StOr and the student life at UiS. The candidates have a passionate commitment to student politics and want to promote the students in the best possible way. All three candidates are able to get involved in the work of the board in a good way. Continuity, but also fresh blood, has been important.

 

The nomination committee has appointed Sverre Gaupås as male student representative on the University Board.

The nomination committee has appointed Magne Bartlett as male deputy representative.

Aleksander Egeli declared himself incompetent in the appointment of a female student representative on the university board. The nomination committee's recommendation was made by Birgitte Gunnarson and Anne Marie Lund:
