The Teknat list won the student election

The student election at UIS is about who will make up the student parliament for 2022. The election is over and the result is now finally ready. This year's election winner is the Teknat list, which secured 8 of 19 seats in the incoming student parliament.

There has been great excitement associated with this year's results in light of the fact that the campus has opened and more students are physically present versus last year's election. Four lists ran for election, which is two fewer than last year.

Although there has been a decline from last year's election turnout, we are pleased that the turnout is so high compared to what is the norm around the country, says Sara Bianca Beitz, Deputy Head of Learning Environment in the Student Organization at the University of Stavanger.

I think we have a job to do both to reach out to, but also to engage the students who started their studies during the pandemic. This has been difficult and therefore it is incredibly important that we continue to try. We always want to increase support at the election, but all in all, this year's result is something we can be happy about, says Eira Aas Eide, head of StOr.
