The aim of the Education and Learning Environment Award is to recognize the environment or individuals at the University of Stavanger who facilitate the students' learning through conscious, academic, pedagogical and social efforts.
The purpose of the education and learning environment award at the University of Stavanger is to recognize good work with education quality and the learning environment, and to stimulate systematic quality work in education. Special efforts to facilitate the physical and psychosocial learning environment at UiS can also be used as a basis. In addition, the award is directed towards good academic work with the courses.
The prize can be awarded to a member of staff, a department, a level of study within a course of study, a subject group at a department, an administrative unit or another unit at the University of Stavanger with responsibility for a limited study or teaching unit.
The measure being assessed must be carried out in collaboration between students, teaching staff, administrative staff and possibly other actors. Emphasis will be placed on how the academic content, pedagogical arrangements and the learning environment together contribute to a good education for the students.
All employees and students can nominate candidates. The deadline for submitting proposals to candidates is 3 May 2024.

The prize is NOK 50.000 and a diploma. The winner will receive the prize during UiS's annual party in October 2024
