National meeting of the Norwegian Student Organization 2024

Spring's most beautiful adventure is over for this time. The National Meeting of the Norwegian Student Organization (LMNSO) 2024 has been a national meeting that will have a major impact on the student movement for years to come. A new research policy platform was adopted, updated statutes, a new action plan for the new working committee, two resolutions on: "Fair treatment of cheating cases" and "A better examination time" and finally, a transition from the central board to the national board has been adopted. This will lead to a major change in terms of co-determination between the national meetings and a clearer presence of all student democracies in this.

We were visited by Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, where a separate question hour was set up for the minister. Where, among other things, he talked a little about the new admissions system that was presented earlier that day. And he got several good questions from the audience, as well as getting to taste some excellent soft ice cream!

We were visited by the head of UHR Sunniva Whittaker and head of the Education and Research Committee Hege Bae Nyholt. Later, there was a very interesting debate on research policy with actors in the research policy sector, which really challenged the thoughts and opinions of the audience. What is research policy, do you conduct research as a student and should you as a student be involved to a greater extent in this? With Kyrre Lekve, Sunniva Whittaker (UHR), Feroz M. Shah (AYF) and Carina Hundhammer on the panel.

It was a learning experience for all 9 of us! With our 7 delegates, one central board member and one representative in UHR Health and education. It has been a very rewarding weekend, very nice to meet so many giving and passionate students! It's great that there are so many engaged and motivated students in our vast country!

Very funny that the new leader of the Norwegian Student Organization (NSO) comes from our Westland friend UiB! Kaja Ingdal Hovdenak, leader of the Student Parliament at UiB, has been elected as the new leader of NSO and we are very excited about this! A big boost for the whole of West Norway! And Western Norway is well represented in the newly elected Working Committee of NSO! Very funny!

We are very excited for the next year! We have great faith in the next working committee for NSO central and we look forward to working together next year!
