The student parliament at the University of Stavanger will elect new students to the work committee, the sponsor committee and the control committee! This is a unique opportunity to help influence and develop the university's education and learning environment, while at the same time contributing to creating and developing an exciting student town and culture in Stavanger. We therefore hope that you are the one who wants to stand for election!
Executive Committee is responsible for running the student organisation, and working closely with the university management to improve the study life for all students. Here you will have the opportunity to influence the development of education and learning processes, and work to ensure that the students have a good and pleasant everyday life at the university. This is a position that frees you from your studies, i.e. you receive a salary and must apply for leave from your studies.
The sponsor committee is responsible for organizing Fadderuken in 2025, one of the most exciting and hectic weeks in student life. Here you can help create a unique experience for new students at the university, and ensure that they feel welcome and included from day one. The sponsor committee selects the remaining Sponsor Board and leads Sponsor Week 2025. This is a position where you can study while working with Sponsor.
Control and Quality committee must attend meetings in the Student Parliament and the work committee's introductory meetings. The committee must ensure that parliamentary meetings are carried out in line with the governing documents, and therefore acts as a watchdog. Furthermore, the committee must also ensure that StOr's policy is carried out in line with decisions and action plans. This is a position you can have alongside your studies.
We encourage all interested students to stand for election, regardless of field of study or previous experience with student organisations. This is an opportunity to meet new people, develop personal and professional skills, and have fun at the same time! We look forward to seeing who will be elected, and to see what the new work and sponsor committee will contribute to making the University of Stavanger an even better place to study.
